I realized that, with at least some of what I create, it might be rather hard to gather what it is exactly that I'm trying to express. There are several reasons why I never try to explain my work anymore and I've tried my best to summarize:

* If what I was trying to express needs further explanation to properly express, than it wasn't expressed well enough (or the person is a complete and utter clod).

* Once what I've created is seen by another person it is no longer my own. Everyone perceives things with their own eyes and their own minds, and thus, what might mean one thing to me might mean something else to another based upon their own life. I cannot control what is in their conscious mind nor do I have a desire to. If one were to look at something I made and say, “That doesn't look like anything,” then it is simply that it doesn't evoke anything in their minds and thus literally means nothings to them.

In the end, when ever someone has asked me, “what is that?” and I am in a conscious enough of a state to answer intelligently, I usually end up saying, “What do you see it as?” in response. It's typically very interesting to see what they say.
